TUTOR'S COMMENTS AND ADVICE TO STUDENT:

Permission given for TMA to be submitted two days late.

You obviously had difficulties with this TMA. What is good is that by giving your best shot to it, it has helped me realise where you are unclear and so I have commented in quite some detail on your script. I hope this will help you develop your understanding.

The other important thing to always remember is that every question that requires use of formulas will also have some strategic aspects for you to consider. If you feel less than comfortable with the calculations you MUST make sure you do not miss out on the other aspects. Here I am afraid you did and lost marks on the assumptions section and the extended time horizon in question one and the extra information you needed and why in both questions one and two.

I hope to give you a ring in the next day or two to discuss your TMA and whether there is any further help you might welcome. You may well find that in fact the Residential School will help you pull the course ideas together. I will be putting up some notes on the TMA on our tutor group conference once I have finished my marking and these again may be of help.

Kind regards
